In 1996, the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development created an initiative called the "FHA Bridal Registry Account."
Couples set up a Bridal Registry Account with an FDIC insured bank or lender. At that point, funds can be deposited by friends and family directly into the Bridal Registry Account or given by cash or check to the couples for deposit. When you're ready to buy, reach out to our team! As a mortgage brokerage, we can source loan options from several lenders.
How does this differ from normal gift funds?
This initiative allows for a modified documentation process for verifying receipt of these funds because the money is in an account that is documented through a lender supervised account.
